Purpose of the Indian Constitution is as follows
* it sets the basic ideal of the kind of country we as citizens aspire to live in.
*it provides us with a set of rules and principles which every citizen of the country could agree upon as the basic way in which they would like their country to be governed by the government
*it provides us with rules which guard against the misuse of power by the strong political leader
*it also ensures that a dominant group does assert it's authority over less dominant group of people
*it also protects us from decision making as some dicision which we might take could have adverse affect on the government depending upon the principles we they believe in.
