The sides of a rhombus, which is special type of prallelogram, are equal. The angles of a rhombus need not to be a right angle.

Given:

The length of diagonals a rhombus 6cm,8cm

Find:

Construct a rhombus the length of whose diagonals are given.

Solution:

According to the problem,

First draw a line segment. Let AC=6cm.

Then with point A as a center drawing an arc of length equal to half of 8cm, that is 4cm below AC.

Now, with point C as a center drawing another arc with same radius such that it intersects the previous arc. Marking the intersection point as B.

Joining the points A,B with B,C.

Now, repeating the same procedure on the other side of AC, rhombus ABCD is obtained.
