Construct a triangle PQR in which PQ = 5.8 cm, QR = 6.5 cm, PR = 4.5 cm.

Steps of the Construction:

  • Draw the line QR of 6.5 cm.
  • From the point, Q draw an arc at 5.8 cm.
  • Now from the point R draw and another arc which cut the previous arc at P.
  • Now join the points PQ and PR.

The figure we get is the required triangle PQR.

For the figure refer to the attached image.

Answer:

Steps of Construction:

(i) Construct a line segment PR = 6.5 cm.

(ii) Taking P as centre and 4.5 cm radius and R as centre and 6 cm radius construct arcs which intersect each other at Q.

(iii) Now join PQ and QR.

(iv) Taking P as centre and 5 cm radius and R as centre and 5.5 cm radius, construct arcs which intersect each other at S.

(v) Join PS and SR.

Hence, PQRS is the required quadrilateral.
