BEIJERINEKIn 1898 he  demonstrated that the extract of the infected plants of tobacco could cause infection in healthy plants and called the fluid as Contagium vivum fluidum  (infectious living fluid).Martinus Willem Beijerinck  was born on 16 March 1851 in Amsterdam , Netherlands.He was considered as one of the founders of virology.He also discovered the process of nitrogen fixation. He died on 1 January 1931.
