Since they are complementary, then the sum of these two angles should be 90 degree. If you assume one of the angles to be x degree, then the other one is (90 - x) degree.

We are also given that the difference is 18 degree, which implies that

x - (90 - x) = 18

Now you should be able to finish the rest.

sanya55: it's completely wrong
sanya55: first of all its not given that the angles are complementary
sanya55: AND secondly i have clearly mentioned that The values are in GRADES not degrees
sanya55: THE DATA IS sufficient
sanya55: SUM AND difference botH ARE GIVEN

We know that 1 grade = 0.9 degrees.

Then 80 grades = 0.9 * 80

                            = 72 degrees.

Then 18 grades = 0.9 * 18

                           = 16.2 degrees.

Now,

Let the two angle be x and y.

Given that sum of two angles is 80 grades

= > x + y = 72   ----- (1)

Given that Their difference is 18 grades.

= > x - y = 16.2  ---- (2)

On solving (1) & (2), we get

x + y = 72

x - y = 16.2

-----------------

2x = 88.2

x = 44.1.

Substitute x = 44.1 in (1), we get

= > x + y = 72

= > 44.1 + y = 72

= > y = 27.9.

We know that sum of angles = 180.

= > x + y + z = 180

= > 44.1 + 27.9 + z = 180

= > z = 180 - 72

= > z = 108.

Therefore the angles are 44.1, 27.9,108.(Degrees)

Hope this helps!

siddhartharao77: if it is 18 degrees..Then we will get answer..But in the question it is written as 18 grades
siddhartharao77: Ohhhhh..So, Question is wrong!
sanya55: yep
