hey mate !!!
sign convention for spherical mirror are :-
1) all distance are major from the pole of a spherical mirror :-
means the distance is measured from pole of a spherical mirror.
2) distance measured in the direction of incident light is taken as positive
3) while the distance is measured in opposite direction is taken as negative.
4) the upward distance to the principal axis is taken as positive.
5) the downward perpendicular distance to the principal axis is taken as negative.
hope it helps!!!
attachment help you to understand BETTER .
thanks

Hi friend,
The following sign convention is used for measuring various distances in the ray diagrams of spherical mirrors:
•Object is always placed to the left of mirror
•All distances are measured from the pole of the mirror.
•Distances measured in the direction of the incident ray are positive and the distances measured in the direction opposite to that of the incident rays are negative.
•Distances measured along y-axis above the principal axis are positive and that measured along y-axis below the principal axis are negative.
hope this helps you....
