The UN (United Nations) has many agencies worldwide to help the countries in need of resources that are provided by the UN. The FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization) has improved India's agricultural methods as well as the items used to improve and grow the plants, e.g, better manure and better seeds. The UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has also improved the environment of India specifically, because India has also helped the UN.
