Convergent Evolutions:

In convergent evolutions, two or more groups of unrelated animals animals come to resemble each other for similar mode of life.

many instance of convergent evolutions are seen in Australian marsupials and placental mammals.

for example; placental wolf and Tasmanian wolf marsupial.

.

Divergent Evolutions:

In divergent evolutions, a single ancestral species give rise to new species and adapted to new geographical area and ways of life.

for example; Darwin finches (small black coloured bird) fpund in galapogas island differ from one other in their due to difference in their beak size due to different feeding  habitat but were closely related to one other.
