Converse BPT theorem

If a line divides ant two sides of a ∆ in the same ratio, the line is parallel to the third side i.e.

see the fig.

In ∆ABC, if 'l' intersect AB in D and AC in E , such that

AD/DB = AE/EC

then 'l' || BC or DE || BC.
