Cooking oil can be converted into vegetable ghee by the process of Hydrogenation.

During hydrogenation, vegetable oils are reacted with hydrogen gas at about 60°C. A nickel catalyst is applied to advance up the reaction. The double bonds are changed to single bonds in the reaction. In this way, unsaturated fats can be formed into saturated fats i.e. oil is transformed into fats.
