Copper has two valencies 1 and 2 so when we say copper chloride (ncert science textbook chemistry Ln-1 exercises) there are two formulas formed cucl and cucl2 . In this case which one we must take and why.??????

in the case of chloride u has to use cucl and in the case of cucl2 it is isotope

Listen you are right copper has two chlorides

1) CuCl (Copper 1 chloride)
2) CuCl2 (Copper 2 chloride)

Don't be confused CuCl is only used in special cases.
And in chemical reactions, CuCl2

so use CuCl2
