Cork and bark of trees are made of dead cells and are impermeable to water . They do not have openings such as stomata that may facilitate transportation or transpiration. Hence, water remians within the plant.

Hi dear....
Here is ur ans....
Cork and bark are really hard and non living or dead cells... As they are dead cells no transpiration occurs in it...and also they don't hv any openings for the loss of water...
.
