data sufficient questions:
 stan the stationer buys two varieties of pencils at $20 a dozen and $30 a dozen and sells them.what is the profit he makes?
statement-1 he buys a total of 10 dozen pencils,
statement-2 stan buys the same number of pencils of either variety,
statement-3 he sold the pencils at $28 a dozen

total no. of dozens bought = 20 dozens
total amount spent to buy = $20*10 + $30 * 10 = 200+300 = $500
cost of pencils sold per dozen = $28
total dozens sold = 20
cost earned = 20*28 = $560
therefore profit = $560-$500 = $60

cost of pencils sold per dozen = $28
total dozens sold = 10
cost earned = 10*28 = $280
therefore profit = $280-$250 = $30
