Yeah. In dear departed, both the daughters Amelia and Elazibeth waited for the death of their father so as to take his properties. Elizabeth kept her father in her house for 5 years and Amelia for 3 years and both the daughters did not cared about him. This shows their negligence.

While in the letter chapter, the father of Miriam waited for her letter since 5 years but still his daughter did not send him a letter which he was waiting anxiously. This too shows her neglegence
