Experience is a teacher who teaches you something without any ambiguity. You will know the answer to various confusing questions clearly. Thereafter you will know a little more about life. So it is apt to say that experience is imperative for mental maturity.
You may hear many things from many people. you may believe some or you may be skeptical about some. This is because you have only somebody else's opinion about the matter. This means you are not in a position to add these to your life's knowledge.
But at the same time if you have experienced it you can be sure of its outcome and the related feelings. We all have head about terrorist attacks and natural calamities. But most of us do not have a first hand knowledge. As a result we may underestimate the trauma involved and even if we are sympathetic towards them we may not be too eager to do something for them. At the same time if we have experienced one such situation, we will know exactly what the situation is and will be able to understand such victims.
In short, the experience will have given us the mental maturity to realize the extreme pain and sense of loss. We will be ready to involve in the rescue and redeeming operations more enthusiastically and we will know what exactly is most needed to the people involved.
A person may be young in years but if he or she has undergone dire experiences in his or her lives, he or she will surely exhibit more mental maturity than the people who have had it easy. A person who has experience poverty will be able to know such people better than others. such persons will be able to help the poor much better than the born-rich people. So it is very true that experience is imperative for mental maturity.
