Political parties and religious organisations often hold large gatherings on public land, which almost invariably spills over to public roads and public spaces. This causes a great deal of confusion and hardship to the general public. In the interest of safety, roads are closed down by the administration, resulting in long detours for motorists. This results in late arrival of employees to work, at school etc., for no fault of their own.

Ambulances, fire engines and emergency vehicles face a lot of difficulty in navigating such a stretch, as a result of the additional traffic and crowd caused by such gatherings.

Hoardings and posters are put up by digging the paved surface. Such huge hoardings and banners, obstruct the view of motorists and pose a serious hazard for pedestrians.

Loud speakers which play speeches and songs at very high volumes, cause noise pollution and scare away animals and birds. Long lines of idling traffic, littering in and around the venue of such meetings, add up to the pollution.

It is high time that people woke up their civic sense and acted against such anti-social activities.
