Oxidation reaction :- It is a controloled combustion. All alcohol can be oxidised to their corresponding Carboxylic acid by strong Oxidising agents, which are capable of adding oxygen to other substances.
Easterification Reaction :- When Ethanoic Acid reacts with absolute Ethanol in the presence of conc. H₂SO₄ (Catalyst) to form Easter which have a pleasant fruity smell.
CH₃COOH + C₂H₅OH ---->CH₃COOC₂H₅ + H₂O
This reaction is called Easterification reaction
Hydrogenation Reaction :- The reaction involves addition of Hydrogen to Unsaturated Hydrocarbons to obtain a saturated Hydrocarbon. Hydrogenation takes place in the presence of finely powdered Nickel (Ni) or Palladium(Pd) which acts as Catalyst.
Saponification Reaction :- It is a process in which oil or fats are Hydrolised with 20 precent of Sodium Hydroxide to give soap and Glycerol. The process is known as Saponification.
Substitution Reaction :- The reaction in which one or more hydrogen atom of saturated hydrocarbon are replaced by some other atom.
