Answer- The above question is from the chapter 'Chemical Reactions and Equations'.

Question: Define corrosion in 3 lines.

Answer: CORROSION:

1. When a metal gets attacked by various substances like: moisture, acids, etc., it gets corroded and this phenomenon is called corrosion.

2. Corrosion spoils the metal and its properties. For example: Copper gets covered with greenish layer, silver turns black and iron gets rusted. But in case of aluminum, the corrosion turns to be useful.

3. Every year, a large sum of money is spent to get the damaged iron and steel and corroded metals repaired.

Ways to prevent corrosion:

1. Painting

2. Galvanization (Putting a layer of Zinc on metals)

3. Greasing
