A landslide is a geological phenomenon which includes a wide range of ground movement, such as rock falls, deep failure of slopes and shallow debris flows, which can occur in offshore, coastal and onshore environments.

Causes..

A landslide is any geologic process in which gravity causes rock, soil, artificial fill or a combination of the three to move down a slope. Several things can trigger landslides, including the slow weathering of rocks as well as soil erosion, earthquakes and volcanic activity.

Effects..

Landslides cause property damage, injury and death and adversely affect a variety of resources. For example, water supplies, fisheries, sewage disposal systems, forests, dams and roadways can be affected for years after a slide event.

types..

For example, the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology distinguishes the following types of landslides:

1.fall (by undercutting)

2.fall (by toppling)

.3.slump.

4.rockslide.

5.earthflow.

To achieve this result, some actions are required:

1.Covering the land with impermeable membranes in order to prevent water infiltration in the landslide;
