plasmolysis occurs when the cell is kept in highly concentrated medium in this process water moves out of cell because there is less water and water moves from high potential to low potential so due to this cell shrinks and the plasma membrane moves away from cell membrane and when the cell regains it's actual shape this is called deplasmolyse.
