CATENATION:- catenation is the bonding of atoms of the same element into a series, called a chain. 


Homologous series:- In organic chemistry, a homologous series is a series of compounds with the same functional group and similar chemical properties

catenation is the property of carbon element due to which its atoms can join with one another to form long carbon chain.
And
a homologous series is a group of organic compounds having similar structures and similar chemical properties in which the successive compounds differ by CH2 group.
