Reflex arc

Reflex arc is the nerve pathway involved in a reflex action.

The components of reflex arc are :-

Receptor: Site of the stimulus action

Sensory Neuron: Transmits afferent impulses to thecentral nervous system

Integration Center: In simple reflex arcs, may be a single synapse between a sensory neuron and amotor neuron(monosynaptic reflex).

Motor Neuron: Conducts efferent impulses from the integration center to an efferent organ.

Effector: Muscle fiber or gland cell that responds to the efferent impulses (by contracting or secreting).

Answer:

there are 5 main components

Explanation:

receptors - detect the event(hot/cold,etc)

sensory neuron- carries information about the event

spinal cord-determines the action along with sending information to our brain

relay neuron- decides the body part to which the action is to be made

motor neuron- reaches the muscle

effector- makes the muscle move
