Echo and its applications.
- When a certain sound wave is traveling in a certain path and there is some kind of obstruction or surface the path's end the sound wave ( like the light).
- It gets reflected back in the same path towards the point from which the sound waves were released hence this reflection of sound after a certain amount of time is known as Echo.
- When we hear more than one echo then this implies that the sound wave had been traveling and getting reflected more than once hence producing multiple echoes.
- This phenomenon of a sound wave can be used in many areas such as:-
- Sonar - This is a method used in submarines to measure the distance of a certain object from the submarine.
- Scanning machines - The internal organs can be checked by doctors using this method.
- Many animals and insects like bats use this method to fly without the need of visuals.
