Dipole is a pair of equal and opposite charges separated by a small distance.
dipole moment is the product of magnitude of charge and the distance between them. Its SI unit is Coulomb metre (Cm).

The electric dipole moment is a measure of the separation of positive and negative electricalcharges within a system, that is, a measure of the system's overall polarity. The electric-field strength of the dipole is proportional to the magnitude of dipole moment.
