Green Revolution refers to the introduction of the HYV seeds, (High yield seeds) the irrigation system, fertilizers, and the proper machinery.

The aim was to make India self - sufficient in the food grains, and to increase the yield of food production in India. The Revolution helped in many ways -

It increased the yield of the food production, and the yield was better than before, the HYV seeds produced better grains than the traditional seeds that were used before.
