OPEN CAST MINING

This are cut made on the earths surface to remove and separate the ore body from other waste rock material .This because the minerals are located close to the surface of the earth .It is then followed up by a series of movement of large waste rock material in order  expose to mineral ore .

SHAFT MINING

In shaft mining the minerals are located deep into earths surface.It involves pushing a series of shafts in a vertical manner to sink them into the bottom most part to move the ores onto the earths surface .The minerals that are  obtained by this mechanism are coal iron and gold .
