Isotopes are variants of a particulars
chemical element which differ in neutron number. All isotopes of a given element have the same number of protons in each atom.

For example
carbon-12, carbon-13 and carbon-14 are three isotopes of the element carbon with mass numbers 12, 13 and 14 respectively but their atomic number is 6

hizbullah80: answer is not correct
aditi3203: It is correct, Why do you say so?
hizbullah80: not correct
aditi3203: Okay but why? Please specify
hizbullah80: isotope is the element which have same atomic number but different atomic mass
aditi3203: Ya, and I have written that exactly
aditi3203: I said there atomic number is 6 but mass numbers are different i.e. 12, ,13, 14
aditi3203: *their
