Natural selection is the process by which nature selects and consolidates those organisms which are more suitably adapted and possess favourable variations.
It is one of the way by which speciation( process of formation of new species) takes place.

The process by which forms of life having traits that better enable them to adopt to specific environmental pressure as predators, changes in climate or competition for food or mates ,will tend to survive and reproduce in greater numbers then other of their kind, thus ensuring the perpetuation of those favourable trait in succeeding generation.
