Neutral substance is a substance that shows no acid or base properties, has an equal number of hydrogen and hydroxyl ions and does not change the colour of litmus-paper. Water, sugar and table salt are common examples of neutral substances.

Hey!!

Substances which are neither acidic nor basic, are called neutral substances. • When an acid is mixed with a base in the right quantities, they neutralise each. other. That means they lose their power. • Some substances change colour when they react with an acid or a base.
