Most of the energy used by living organisms comes directly from sun.

Plants make sugar (glucose), a complex compound, from carbon dioxide and water, in the presence of chlorophyll by using light energy. This process is called Photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis can be also defined as the process by which green plants make food using carbon dioxide, sun energy and water.

Photosynthesis is a process in which six molecules of carbon dioxide, six molecules of water form one glucose molecule and six molecules of oxygen.

The glucose is then converted into starch and stored in plants.

carbon dioxide, water and light energy are extremely important for the process of Photosynthesis along with the presence of chlorophyll.
