Answer:

When a light radiation of a suitable frequency called threshold frequency falls on a metal surface the ejection of electrons from the metal takes place. The ejection of electrons from the surface of a metal by radiations of suitable frequency is called Photoelectric effect and the rejected electrons are called photoelectrons . Electrons can be easily ejected from caesium and potassium with the help of light radiations, this fact is utilised in photoelectric cells . The current flowing through the circuit of a photoelectric cell is called photoelectric current .
