we have to show that P = F.V

Power is the amount of energy required for specific time. in simple way, power is the ratio of amount of energy to time taken.

if P is power , E is energy and t is time

then, P = E/t

Energy = workdone = force × displacement

⇒E = F × ∆x

so, Power, P = F × ∆x/t

= F × (∆x/t)

= F × v [ as we know, rate of change of displacement with respect to time is known as velocity.so, ∆x/t = v ]

hence, power = Force. velocity
