\bold{Answer}

capacitor is a device which store the electricity and electronic charge for a small or short period of time which consist the two metallic plates  to separated by the dielectric.

The function of capacitor which is store the electrical energy and then give  again to the circuit  when it's need or necessary.

It's charges and discharges the electric charge stored in it.

When you apply a voltage over the two plates, that time an electric field is created.

This is able to discharge and charge faster than a battery because of this energy storage method also.

It's mainly known as condenser.
