meteors, we often call it as shooting stars or meteoroids. it is a part of our solar system. when the meteor reaches the atmosphere of the earth, then it is called meteors and then it burn up. but if the meteor still survives and hit the surface of earth, then it's called meteorites.
now, differences:-
1. meteors are debris and burns out in the atmosphere, while meteorites are meteors which hit the surface of the earth.
2. meteors are only burning rocks, it doesn't contain any other particle in it. while meteorites contains a combination of metals, nickle and other magnetic elements.
