Its the relationship between distance of image (v), distance of object (u), and the focal length (f) of the lens.

\sf\huge{\underline{\mathbb{Question!}}}

▶Define Lens fromula!?

\sf\huge{\underline{mathbb{Answer}}}

=➡Lens formula is defined as the formula which gives relationship between the distance of image(v) and the distance of object (u) and the focal length of the image!

It is given by!

\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{u}=\frac{1}{f}

.....

for example!

If distance of object is 20cm and distance of image formed is 40 cm.Then Calculate it's focal length..

➡we have..

v= 40cm

u= 20cm

according to the formula!

\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{u}=\frac{1}{f}

\frac{1}{40}-\frac{1}{20}=\frac{1}{f}

\frac{20-40}{800}= \frac{1}{f}

\frac{-20}{800} = \frac{1}{f}

f = \frac{-800}{20}

f = - 40cm

which states that image is formed behind the mirror!!
