1. Oxidising Agents
a) Gains electron in a chemical reaction.  
b) Oxidation number decreases in a chemical reaction.
Examples
 O2, O3

2. Reducing Agents
a) Lose electrons in a chemical reaction.
b) Oxidation number increases in a chemical reaction.
Examples
Zn, Fe
