  • Deforestation is not the main cause of acid rain. Deforestation results in the reduction of the amount of material that can soak up Carbon dioxide and is thus unsuitable but can have a very limited effect on the acidity of rain.

  • Acid rain is largely caused by a chemical reaction that begins when compounds like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are discharged into the air and have very less influence on the reaction with carbon dioxide

  • Acid rain is the main cause of Deforestation because acid rain that flows into the ground can dissolve nutrients, like magnesium and calcium, that trees compel to be active. Acid rain also causes the aluminium to be discharged into the soil, which makes it problematic for trees to take up water.

  • Trees that are located in mountainous regions at higher heights mostly like spruce or fir trees are in greater danger because they are exposed to acidic clouds and fog, which encompass tremendous amounts of acid than rain or snow. The acidic clouds and fog strip vital nutrients from their leaves and needles and this loss of nutrients make them susceptible to infections, pests, and cold weather for damaging trees and forests.
