false.

sublimation is a process of change of physical state of a substance from solid phase to the gaseous phase directly without going through the liquid phase in between.    When a substance is at its triple point - a particular temperature and pressure - , or below the triple point, then a solid goes directly into gas.

From sand, water can be separated by  processes:  evaporation and condensation  OR  the process called  distillation.
