Lack of Efficiency: In a democracy almost all political decisions and policies have to be debated first until a majority agrees to have it implemented. This can severely delay the implementation of important legislation and or political decisions.Obstruction: As mentioned above because all things have to be debated and agreed upon by a majority, some people may do all in their power to obstruct a policy they don’t like.Majority Rule: In a democracy the majority is always right, even when it isn’t. This results in minority groups often being neglected at best or actively oppressed at worst.Expensive: In a democracy, money has to be spent towards elections and beaurocracy and debates. Depending on the democracy, this can result in a large waste of funds.Lowest common denominator: in a democracy all voice can speak and be heard. Even if they are 100% wrong. This can lead to bad ideas and practices gaining traction. E.g. climate change denial.
