In democracy there are political parties which mislead, misinform and misguide the electorate. Issues are distorted, facts are falsified, appeals are made to emotions and false and utopian promises are made by them.

There are unhealthy political compromises and coalitions are formed giving up all principles. Privileges and power are distributed among the supporters instead of being given to those who deserve them. It breeds corruption like 'spoils system' and 'lobbying'.

Genuine people generally do not like to go through the botheration of elections and political tricks. While the opportunists and self seekers succeed easily. So the capable people are pushed behind.

The ignorant and simple masses are exploited by the rich classes and political leaders. Democracy leads to majority rule which tyrannizes the minority. The people are subjected to the rule of the numerous rather than the rule of the wise.
