In democracy, the government happens to go to elections periodically and face the electorate. It has to answer the people they want to know from it and fulfill the promises made before elections. The party in opposition plays significant role in fixing government's responsibility, no matter the system is parliamentary or presidential, though there are differences in accountability mechanism. Undoubtedly, this form of government is more accountable and despite its flaws any totalitarian system is unacceptable.
But the flaws of the democratic system can not be undermined. The worst criticism apparently, is vote politics. An eye on electoral gain in policy formulation and implementation is the biggest drawback of democracy. It hinders progress, leads to appeasement and may prove conservative and harmful in the interests of the nation.

Hey friend,
Here is the answer you were looking for:

• Democracic government is more accountable government because it is responsible for all its action, decisions and policies including the administration.

• The government is always answerable to people. If the government is not working according to the needs and expectations of the people. The parliament can move ' no confidence motion'against the govt.

• More than 3 crore people died in 1958-61 in China. But india didnt have a famine like china. The existence of democratic government in India made the government to respond to the food scarcity in a way that Chinese government didn't.

Hope this helps!!!
