the normal ph of our saliva is5.8 before meal and 7.4 after meal if this limit of ph is increased in saliva it may corrode the ennamel of the teeth to prevent this and neutralise exesive acid level in our mouth the dentist may advise the patient to use alkaline based tooth paste
