{\textbf{Answer}}

Orbital velocity is the velocity with which a satellite revolves around a planet in ins orbit

Derivation

Conside a sateliteof mass m revolving around the earth of mass Mand radius r.

Let the height of the satellite be h,

The gravitational force of attraction between the earth and the satellite is GMm/r2

This gravitational force provides the necessary centripetal force to keep it in its orbit

If vo is the orbital velocity of the orbit

fc=mvo / r2

fc=fg

mvo2/r = GMm/r2

vo2=GM/r

vo= (GM/r)1/2 {root}
