Explanation:

A container of uniform cross-section has a height of 14m. Up to what height (in metre) water of refractive index 4/3 should be filled inside the container so that container seems to be half filled for normal viewing.A container of uniform cross-section has a height of 14m. Activity:

Aim:

To show that liquids exert pressure on the wall of container.

Requirements:

Water/Liquid filled bottle or any other container , pin , experimentation tray.

Setup:

  • The liquid is filled in the bottle/container and kept on the experimentation tray.

  • With the help of a pin , 2 small but equal sized holes are punctured on the wall of the container.

Observation:

  • Water/liquid comes out the bottle through the hole and follows Projectile motion and reached the tray.

Conclusion:

Hence , liquids exert pressure on the wall of the bottle as a result of which the liquid flowed out and followed a trajectory.

Also , the pressure of liquid increases with depth from the container top.

 \boxed{ \sf{pressure =  \rho \times g \times h}}
