first of all as we know joule is the SI unit of energy so the fundamental units of energy and joules will be the same...
as energy in fundamental quantities is [m1l2t-2]
in SI units m(mass)=KG, l(distnace)=m,t(time)=seconds
so joule in SI units will be=KG-m2/s2
