Thermometre

The device used to measure the temperature of an object is called a thermometre.There are different kinds of thermometers used for measuring the temperature of different ranges,materials and situations.

Fact:-In 1742,Andres Celsius proposed a scale to be used as thermometres,which now bears his name.

  • ⟶ The reading is noted in degree Celsius which is also written as °C in short.
  • ⟶ According to scale,the freezing point of water is taken as 0° C.
  • ⟶ According to scale,the boiling point of water is 100° C.

Formula used to convert temperature into different scales is as follows:-

 \bf{ \degree \: F  = ( \degree \: C \times  \frac{9}{5}) + 32 }

or,

 \bf{ \degree \: C =  \frac{5( \degree \: F - 32)}{9} }

Where °F is used for Fahrenheit scale and °C is used for Celsius scale.
