Guiseppe Mazzini was bprn in Genoa in 22june , 1805 in a middle class family.He was an impprtant figure in liberal nationalism and was an Italian revolutionary with a commitment to oppose monarchial forms and fight for liberty and freedom.He made a significant contribution to the unification of Italy.He believed God intended nations to be natural units of Mankind and Italy could not continue to be a patchwork of small states and kingdoms. He inspired the youth of Italy with nationalist ideas.He was the member of the secret society of Carbonari.He founded the underground secret societies-Young italy of Marseilles and young Europe in Berne to involve the youth in revolutionary activities. As a young man , he went to exile in 1831 at the age of 24.It was for attempting a revolution in Ligunia.Though his attempts ended in failure,he played a significant role in awakening the spirit of Nationalism in Italy.
