Helen with her teacher and family to fern quarry which was 14 mile from tuscumbia .there was a limestone quarry so the place get name as fern quarry. there were 3 stream ,waterfall ,ferns and beautiful flowers everywhere and tree of oaks and pines which were full of butterflies and buzzing insects. Helen's cottage was a sort of rough camp which was situated at top of mountain . the small room were arranged on each side of long open hall. round the house wide piazza where Helen and teacher use spend most of time and she enjoyed the wind shaking the branches and falling sound of leave . she loved to get lost with her sister and teacher in Forest and smell the odour coming from the earth . many visitors use to ferry quarry and in use to tell stories special Hunter who hunt animals share the experience to Helen . she use to roam with small horse namely black beaty. the experience when Mildred, teacher and Helen was really lost in Forest and some how they came back to cottage.

Helen return to her Southern home in the autumn. She had a heart full of joyous memories. She was filled with wonderful experiences of her visit to the north. She enjoyed information she had from there. She lived herself into all things and was never still a moment. Her life was full of motion. She had met with many people.

All the people talk to her by spelling into her hand. It made her feel important, it give her a lot of pleasure. Now she was enjoying herself there. She felt as if her barren mind was blooming. She had developed a bond with others. Now Helen was not a ordinary stubborn girl. She had matured a lot. Her visit to different places had developed her faculties of understanding the environment and people around her. She had developed an affection with nature. Her interaction with people in North gave her a lot of joy.
