I was tucking myself into bed, when all of a sudden, I heard the sharp thud of knuckles against my window. I pulled myself up, as pale as a ghost, daring to peek out the window. It wouldn't hurt to sneak a a fleeting glance at this rather rude intruder, would it?
My heartbeat thundered against my ribcage, in unison with the resounding thunder outside. My insitncts screamed at me to run the other way, but I persisted nevertheless. I took small measure steps as I made my way across the bedroom. My fists were clenched into small balls. Just as I was about to yank my curtain aside came down another deafening round of banging.
Mustering what little courage I had in me, I whipped my curtain aside. The sly, grinning face of annoyance presented itself. It was none other than my incessantly infuriating brother.
