The essential components of the human cardiovascular system are the heart, blood and blood vessels. It includes the pulmonary circulation, a "loop" through the lungs where blood is oxygenated; and the systemic circulation, a "loop" through the rest of the body to provide oxygenated blood.

Answer :-

The process of circulation in human beings is referred to as "Double circulation" or "Double heart circuit".

The characteristics of the process double heart circuit are as follows :-

  • In double heart circuit, with each beat, the heart pumps blood into two closed circuits - the "Systematic circuit" and the "Pulmonary circuit".

  • The left side of the heart serves as the pump for systematic circulation.

  • The left side of the heart receives oxygenated blood from the lungs.

  • The left ventricle of the heart ejects blood into the aorta which carries blood to the small systematic arteries.

  • The deoxygenated blood of the systematic circuit flows back to the right atrium.

  • The right side of the heart serves as the pump for the Pulmonary circuit.

  • The right side of the heart receives deoxygenated blood, returning from the systematic circuit.

  • Blood ejected from the right ventricle, flows into the pulmonary arteries that carry blood to the right and left lung.

  • The blood after oxygenation, flows into the pulmonary veins and returns to the left atrium.

  • In double circulation, blood passes twice through the heart during one complete cycle.
